Spread the News!

Here we are...the middle of summer. It is the hottest time of the year, and we are enjoying the sunniest, longest, hottest days of the year. We are simply spoiled with sunshine! Celebrations abound. Millions of people across our country are enjoying summer time cookouts, firework displays, walks in the field eating sweet fruit fresh from the trees, swimming in wonderful swimming pools and playing on the beach. Is there anything wrong with this? Absolutely not!

But, my friends, we must remain alert. We must remain focused. We must share the gospel with someone...anyone...the whole world! We must. It is a mandate from God, and it is His desire to use His people to share the message of His kingdom and His gift of salvation to a lost and hurting world. So, what does this have to do with those cookouts and fireworks we are experiencing? It has everything to do with it!

To be an evangelist, we don't need to rent a huge tent, pass out flyers, and host an old time revival (although doing so is a wonderful idea!). We don't have to get our own tv channel on satellite tv to broadcast our message (again, a wonderful idea if you are able to do so!). My challenge is for every single believer, no matter where you are, or what your schedule might have you doing, to share their faith with anyone they come into contact with during their day.

Anyone!

Whether you are at the store, or at home.
Whether you are on the phone, or on the internet.
Whether you are walking down the street,
or walking down the hall of your office complex.

Simply share Jesus.

Share how He is everything to you, and how He has changed your life. Share how salvation is available to all who repent and believe. There is no need for a rehearsed speech, but absolute need for truth. Tell them that without Jesus, there is no path to heaven. With Jesus, the One and only Savior of the world, they will enjoy heaven, and be rescued from the depths of hell itself, if they repent and believe. That whole "fire and brimstone" thing that our generation laughs off is a reality...for those who reject Jesus as the Son of God. He is not simply a prophet or a teacher or a friend...He is the Son of God. This is what the world must hear.

Share.
Believe.
Witness.
Rejoice!

We can watch the evening news and see that our time on earth is getting shorter by the minute. We know the season, and we know that some day, we will be with Jesus. Wouldn't you love to see the people you know and love enjoying that same assurance of salvation? I'm sure many people you interact with are already Christians...but what about those who are not? Take the plunge. Share Jesus. Lead them to the Savior who can make an eternal impact on their lives.

Much love in Christ,

JD
